Instructor Bio:

Christine Mills is a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher with Berkeley County Schools,teaching a Baking & Pastry Program at Spring Mills High School. She is a cooking and baking enthusiast who loves all things culinary arts and enjoys sharing her passion with others. In her early years she worked as a pastry chef in Atlantic City, New Jersey at casinos such as, Resorts and Bally’s Park Place after graduating from the Academy of Culinary Arts. Her specialty during that time was high-volume dining preparing food for groups of people as large as 1,500 at a time. Christine has 10 plus years working in the restaurant and food service industry. After staying home to raise her children for 10 years and completing a degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Family and Consumer Sciences at Shepherd University, she worked at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College (BRCTC) teaching both foundational and advanced courses in baking and pastry as well as, managing programs in entrepreneurship and early childhood education. During that time Christine was also responsible for all catering at the BRCTC Technology Center and operation of the retail outlet The Bruin Café. She also holds a Master of Arts in College Student Development and Administration from Shepherd University. And in the three years since she joined Spring Mills High School, Christine has expanded the Baking & Pastry Program to include the implementation of the student run Simulated Workplace, The Cardinal Café, and has affiliated a new chapter of Skills USA promoting career and technical education.
